Before I go any further, please let me clarify that I do not hate homosexuals. Jesus taught that we must love those who sin against God in ignorance. The Christians duty is to reach out to them with compassion while not becoming entagled in the behavior God says is wrong. However, I do believe that homosexuality is a sin and that God will judge those who refuse to repent just as he will judge those who practice any other sin.

Sexuality & Creation

Some say that God “made gays just as certainly as he made straight people.” It is true that God made everyone and everything but there is no indication anywhere in scripture that proves God made homosexuals. In fact, just the opposite is true. When God placed Adam in the garden He said, “It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him” (Genesis 2:18). When God saw that man needed a companion he made a helper that was “fit” or “suitable” for him. The male design does not fit with another man nor does the female design fit with another female. God did not create a husband for Adam, He created a wife.

Just a few verses after that God said, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed” (Genesis 2:24-25). We see clearly here that God is laying out the foundation for marriage and that is between a man and a woman. There is no mention of homosexuality being accepted.

Also in the New Testament, the natural order of creation is shown by Paul when he wrote, “For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature;  and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error” (Romans 1:26-27). Based upon what Paul says is natural God calls homosexuality unnatural and indecent.

Consider What The New Testament Says About Homosexuality

The New Testament clearly states that homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God. To the church at Corinth, Paul writes, “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 
nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Notice these verses clearly indicate that homosexuality, as well as other sins, will exclude people from inheriting the kingdom of God.

Paul warned the church not to be deceived about these sins. I believe that admonition still holds true today. We cannot be deceived about the sin of homosexuality. Even today, regardless of whether of our society accepts homosexualty, those who practice this sin will not inherit the kingdom of God. DO NOT BE DECEIVED!

The church should never condone what God condemns. She must always stand up for what is right.

According to Acts 17:30, “The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.” That includes homosexuals. They are sinners just like everyone else. If they will forsake their sin and come to God, through Jesus Christ, humbly submitting to Him in obedience they can be saved.
