1. We read of it in the New Testament

“Greet one another with a holy kiss. The churches of Christ greet you” (Romans 1:16)

2. It exalts Christ as the only head of the church

“And He put all things under His feet and gave Him as head over all things to the church” (Ephesians 1:22)

3. It has no creed but Christ and binds no name on its members but the divine name, Christian

“…the disciples were first called Christians” (Acts 11:26)

4. It speaks where the Bible speaks and is silent where the Bible is silent

“whoever speaks, as one who speaks the oracles of God” (1 Peter 4:11)

5. It pleads for the unity of all believers in Christ
